LOS ANGELES - JULY 14, 2008 - Mobile-XL announced today that on July 18, its XLBrowser will be released at all of FoneExpress' 30 Kenyan-based retail stores. Downloads of the application will be available for almost anyone with an existing mobile phone as well as new phone buyers.
The XLBrowser is a revolutionary, yet affordable, mobile phone application that utilizes SMS to provide instant access to global and local information to anyone, anywhere, using almost any mobile phone. The XLBrowser's intuitive interface allows a user to easily select and instantly receive up-to-the-minute information, news, sports, finance, entertainment, games, music and much more - all with minimal effort and instant results. The XLBrowser is a passport that opens up a world of information, particularly valuable for users in areas with limited, unreliable, or expensive internet or WAP technologies.
On a phone outfitted with the XLBrowserTM, a user's command is translated into an SMS and sent to the Mobile-XLTM smart search content server. A reply is immediately generated and sent back to the mobile phone, where the XLBrowserTM formats and displays the response directly on the handset. The XLBrowserTM allows access to information from almost any phone, anywhere, and all for the cost of an SMS!
"The addition of the XLBrowser mobile phone application to our lineup makes it easier for FoneExpress to provide its customers with total connectivity solutions," said Faiza Kana, FoneXpress. "We're committed to offering products and services to our customers that will provide them with the best access to information and people, and we believe the XLBrowser enhances our current product offering."
"This release brings Mobile-XL closer to realizing its goal of Bridging the Digital Divide," said Guy Kamgaing-Kouam, CEO of Mobile-XL. "We are thrilled to have Fone Xpress as a partner in the region and believe they are well positioned to make the Kenya launch successful by reaching the broadest audience."
