Head of Content Partnerships - India

Company Overview

MXL Telecom is the Indian subsidiary of Mobile-XL™. Mobile-XL™ is a California-based technology company focused on building value added services to mobile users worldwide. Mobile-XL™ provides emerging markets of India, Africa, Latin America and the Middle-East with affordable access to communication and relevant information with the ultimate goal of putting these areas on par with parts of the world that have readily available access to PCs, the internet and WAP. The XLBrowser™, Mobile-XL’s™ flagship product, is the crucial link to information and communication anyplace in the world where internet, WAP and GPRS services are slow, limited, and unreliable. It provides customers a one-stop solution for access to a wide variety of information, entertainment and business related services, through established relationships with content providers such as Facebook, AFP, Weatherbug, XE, among many others.

Position Overview

In this role you will have the opportunity to hone business skills (e.g. business development, marketing, strategy, and analytics) and be exposed to multiple functional disciplines (e.g. product management, engineering, legal, operations). You will also manage all partner activities and represent MXL Telecom's user, product, and program interests to the partner. You will also be responsible for sourcing new partners for content categories and launching new partnerships.


  • Maintain strong direct relationships with strategic content partners in India

  • Drive new partnerships, selling new business opportunities to new and existing partners, and ensuring prompt and proper resolution of issues raised by partners

  • Define and implement scalable business practices for content acquisition and partner management. Represent MXL Telecom at industry events (describe benefits to users, content providers, and advertisers)

  • Play central role in helping team build content metrics and management "business infrastructure" tools

  • Lead research and analysis that helps determine content category/vertical strategies. Maintain deep understanding of MXL Telecom's product roadmap


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a strong academic record, with at least 6 years of experience. MBA a plus

  • Familiarity with the digital media landscape in India, with at least some prior experience working with digital media houses in India

  • At least 1 years of experience working in the Mobile Value-Added Services (MVAS) space

  • At least 2 years of account management or consulting experience

  • Excellent partner communication skills and presentation abilities, including comfort in front of a large audience

  • Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects and competing priorities

  • Ability to effectively think strategically and influence cross-functional teams, such as Technical Service, Product Development, and Engineering teams to resolve problems and to provide input into new features
